Training course "Initiatives for anti-discrimination"
The training course aims to create a common platform for youth workers and youth leaders to develop their competences needed to organize and run European youth projects in human rights education.
The aims of the training course:
-To discuss the current situation in the countries and explore the possibilities to address the discrimination influencing the young people.
-To set up the framework of policies for ensuring social inclusion of young people with disadvantaged background.
-To get competences in running human rights education youth projects.
-To plan concrete projects with young people.
-To get training in project management.
-To share experience and youth work practices.
-To recognize possible solutions to address discrimination and xenophobia.
-To reflect on the notion of the human rights and be able to multiply this knowledge.
-To discuss the quality criteria for youth projects addressing the issue of Human Rights.
-To introduce and familiarize the participants with COMPASS -a manual on human rights education with young people- and discuss how to adapt it to the participants' realities.
-To develop intercultural competences of the participants.
-To initiate partnership between the organisations by creating the common space for joint work.
Profile of the participants:
All participants selected for this course must be:
-Youth leaders and young people in position of the responsibility in international non-governmental youth organisations (INGYOs), national youth councils (NYCs), national or local youth organisations, actively and directly involved in human rights and youth participation projects at local or regional level;
-Youth workers or project leaders active within regional and municipal services, in charge of a project on youth participation - motivated in developing projects in the field of Human Rights Education;
-be aged between 18 and 30 years;
-be actively involved in a youth organisation or governmental youth related service, and in a position to take on responsibilities within multi-cultural or intercultural activities after the event;
-be able to work in working language of the seminar- in this case English.
