The main aim of this innovative training is to enable participants to deal more effectively with issues of active and European citizenship in a multi-cultural youth work context.
Aim of the training course: The main aim of the training is to enable participants to deal more effectively with issues of active and European citizenship in a multi-cultural youth work context. The 'Youth in Action' programme is one of the main elements of this training course. Participants will receive knowledge and practical skills for developing 'Youth in Action' programme applications. Objectives of the training course: - to develop participants knowledge and skills on the topic of European citizenship; - to introduce the terminology used within the topic 'European citizenship'; - to encourage participants to organise local and regional activities with minority groups on the topic; - to give a knowledge on project development stages within the 'Youth in Action' programme; - to introduce methods on the topic of European Citizenship to participants; - to create joint projects related to the topic of European Citizenship to be implemented in 2008 and 2009, both within and outside the 'Youth in Action' programme. Profile of participants: Active members, young leaders, project carriers, voluntary or professional youth workers: - aged over 18; - actively involved in a youth organisation or governmental service, and in the position to take on responsibilities within multi-cultural or intercultural multiplying activities after the course; - be responsible for projects over the next year to 18 months; - be well informed about their organisation and prepared to explain its activities to the other participants; - be able to work in English; - be committed to attend for the full duration of the course.

Costs

Board and lodging is provided by the course organisers. Travel expenses are reimbursed according to the European Commission 'Youth in Action' programme rules, which means 70% of the total travel costs and 100% of the visa costs. There is no participation fee.
