Young Citizens with Better Opportunities
Training course on Active participation and European citizenship of young people with fewer opportunities (social, cultural, geographical, and economical disadvantages) within international youth exchanges, youth initiatives, and youth democracy projects.
Overall aim of the training course
Main aim is to train youth workers, youth leaders on developing their competences to give information, motivate, and keep involved young people with fewer opportunities in international youth projects. To develop an understanding of active participation of young people with fewer opportunities and to develop different ways to ensure their impact on the local community by using non-formal education and intercultural learning methods.
The training course is supported by the EU programme 'Youth in Action' (Action 4.3).
Learning objectives of the training course are:
- To develop information giving and spreading skills about A1 as international youth exchanges, youth initiatives, and youth democracy projects to young people with fewer opportunities;
- To develop different ways to motivate and involve young people with fewer opportunities in these projects;
- To develop methods and techniques to keep young people with fewer opportunities involved in international projects;
- To raise awareness of how young people with fewer opportunities can become active citizens of the local community in support of international youth projects;
- To raise awareness of how young people with fewer opportunities can feel to be European citizens in support of international youth projects;
- To understand how non-formal and informal learning and intercultural learning can help to achieve active participation and European citizenship.
The methodology of the training course:

- individual and group activities
- work on practical examples in a small groups
- thematic workshops
- role plays
- theoretical inputs
- discussions on follow-up and activities after this training course.
Who can participate in the training course?
- Aged over 18
- Youth workers, directly working with young people with fewer opportunities, having the experience of running at least one youth project at local, regional, national, or transnational level;
- Youth leaders, having the experience of running at least one youth project at local, regional, national, or transnational level;
- Young people with fewer opportunities, having the experience of participating in at least one youth project at local, regional, national or transnational level;
- Ready to take part in the whole training course;
- Have organisational support for further activities with young people with fewer opportunities;
- To be able to communicate in English.

Board and lodging will be provided during the entire TC by the organisers. We ask for your contribution to this training course, which is: 30% of your travel costs; participation fee of 20 Euro.
