New youth trainers are invited to register in TOY
If you are an international youth trainer, you might want to register in the Trainers Online for Youth database and promote your skills and experience Europe-wide. Find out how to register here. Or invite your colleague trainers to register via www.salto-youth.net/newtrainer/
Registered TOY Trainers > go to Toy Login
TOY aims to be a userfriendly database in which experienced international youth trainers can register their trainer profile in order for training organisers to find the appropriate trainer for their training activity. Find out some reasons why to register below!
You want to register?
TOY is not a closed club for 'friends only', however in order to safeguard the quality of trainers in TOY, there are minimum standards you need to comply with before you can go online!
Trainers in TOY should:
- have worked (paid or voluntarily) as a full time trainer on minimum 3 international training activities (training courses, seminars) in the youth field (non-formal education, experiential learning, group dynamics, interactive methods,...) of 3 days or longer and provide references for them (this can be the organiser, a co-trainer,...) - Read more about which references qualify and which don't!
- complete all obligatory fields in the TOY database before they will be 'activated' (switched online)
If you are such an experienced international youth (work) trainer - you can register online!
NOTE: TOY is not meant for 'Vocational Trainers', 'Teacher Trainers' or 'Leaders of Youth Exchanges' BUT is intended for trainers on 'free-time' 'non-formal' training activities within the youth field, mostly in residential format with a big group dynamic component. !!! Read more here about which Training References qualify and which not to be listed in TOY.
Why list yourself in TOY?
Once you have completed all obligatory fields in the TOY database, the TOY administrator will 'activate' you and your TOY profile will become public. What does this bring you?
- Training organisers from all over Europe (and beyond) can search TOY and see your profile and contact you for training activities (have a at the About TOY page for statistics)
- You will receive a link to your TOY profile which you can use on your business card, your CV or in trainer job applications e.g. http://trainers.salto-youth.net/find-a-trainer/YourName/
- SALTO regularly sends arounds calls for trainers for different training courses. For SALTO courses you can use your TOY link in your application.
- You benefit from the promotion that SALTO and partner organisations are doing for TOY.
- With your same TOY username password you can also have access to other SALTO tools, such as the Toolbox for Training (to enter your training tools), manage your newsletter subscriptions, apply online to participate in courses, etc
- It is absolutely free - you only need to invest some time in entering your profile and keep it updated
If you want to enjoy these benefits - simply register online!

Not 3 valid Training References yet?
The TOY database is for experienced youth work trainers. That's why we ask you to provide details and references for 3 international training activities (of minimum 3 days) in the youth (work) field which you did as a full time trainer.
But how do you get the first 3 international experiences as a youth (work) trainer?
- You can take part in a training for trainers which often asks you to do a (international) practice training: see if there is a training for trainers coming up in the SALTO Training Calendar
- You can start doing training for your own youth organisation's international umbrella organisation (if any): you can find a list of European umbrella organisations on the website of the European Youth Forum
- You can get involved (with your youth organisation) in organising a training course or seminar within the European YOUTH in Action programme.
- Start small and local. Once others know your interest, motivation and skills in youth (work) training, it will get easier to get more involved. Rome wasn't built in one day ;-)
