Inclusion in ACTion

The aim of our project is to provide Theatre of the Oppressed tools and new artistic pedagogy skills to youth workers working with young people from minorities.

The aim of our project is to provide Theatre of the Oppressed tools and new artistic pedagogy skills to youth workers directly working with young people from minorities at risk of social exclusion, encouraging them to diversify methodologies and strategies in the search for minorities’ empowerment and in the boost of real social inclusion.


About the project:

· 1st Phase – Training Course for Youth Workers (A1) - April 2018 (8 days + 2 travel days) Hollókő, Hungary :

8 days programme focused on giving youth workers the background and skills on Theatre of the Oppressed as a tool for social inclusion and empowerment of youth minorities at risk of social exclusion. The technical sessions from the programme have been created and will be delivered by an expert on the field of Theatre of the Opressed.

· 2nd Phase – Local Action April,May and June 2018 , each partner country:

3 months action phase where participants come back to their local organisations and put in action the gained knowledge and skills through delivering the inclusive workshops (previously created during A1) for their target group youth using Theatre of the Oppressed methods.

· 3rd Phase – Capacity Building Meeting (A2) - July 2018 (4 days + 2 travel days) Hollókő, Hungary :

4 days meeting focused on improving the inclusive workshops created by participants, by applying feedback gathered during Local Action Phase and feedback given by Trainers and peers; developing a Booklet with Theatre of the Oppressed Methodology, including the workshops created and tested by the participants; and creating new follow up projects on social inclusion and empowerment of youth from minorities with the focus on using Theatre of the Oppressed and other artistic methods in their work.


About the Partners:

The project partners we aim to reach are organizations directly working with young people from minorities at risk of social exclusion with special focus on: Roma community, youngsters with disabilities, LGBTI+ community and youngsters with migrant backgrounds.

We ask from partners to work with the stated minorities, be interested in our project and committed to keep the partnership until the end of the 3-rd phase.


Target Group:

The target group of this project are are youth workers directly working with young people from minorities at risk of social exclusion looking a powerful methodology based on non-formal education methods that is inclusive, engaging and universally understandable: Theater of the Oppressed.

Participants will be asked to contribute with a participant's contribution of 30-50€ for the 3-phase project that will be paid upon arrival to the first Training Course.
