International Centre of Youth Cooperation NGO

Being founded in one of the post-soviet countries, in The Republic of Armenia our NGO has set up a mission to change the totalitarian mindset that still exists in our society. We think that this totalitarian mindset is the major problem in Armenia, which oppresses the progress and development.
We understand that it is almost impossible to change something in the old generation, but we count on young people. They are the ones who proved not once that change is possible and they are change makers in our country. In this sense it is invaluable the role of the EU and its opportunities for young people. Providing young people the opportunity to travel and live in Europe is crucial to reach our goals. It is transforming and life-changing experience, which can drive the positive change in Armenia. Nonetheless, we think that today many young people are not aware of the projects and opportunities that provide the European Union. Most of the young people especially those living in regions are not familiar with volunteering and they do not know what is that at all. We have noticed this problem, which is really concerning. As a newly formed youth organization, our aim is to decrease the lack of information, to raise awareness on the EU and its projects and promote the mobility of young people. We are highly motivated to participate in volunteering activities because as former volunteers, we have a deep understanding of its impact and importance and we aspire to make it available to as many young people as possible. We believe that our NGO has all the needed potential to be eligible for this program and support young people to become European citizens and promote European values in our country and use their volunteering experience and knowledge for the development of Armenia.
