The Bezirksjugenwerk der AWO Hessen-Sued e.V. (BJW = workers welfare youth organisation) is an independent, non-government, not-profit youth organisation, with a focus on nonformal education for children, youths and young adults. The main objective is to support young people in their process of personal development and education besides school and university, to improve social, educational, (inter)cultural and other skills and competences. By this, the aim of BJW is to improve tolerance, solidarity, self-determination and democracy in our society. A volunteer board aged 20 to 30, leads the organisation. The main activities of the BJW are seminars in non formal education, youth travel, coordination of local projects and Groups, such as recreation holidays and playtimes. We also active in the field of international and intercultural youth work and organise youth Exchanges and EVS. The target group are children and young people from seven to 30 years with a focus on the age of 18 to 27 in which we train and educate volunteers and motivate them to take over responsibility as multiplicators and in the work of the BJW. The BJW is open to everybody, but we have the aim to especially support people with fewer opportunities as refugees, migrants, children from financially more weakly placed families or children with less educational chances.
We are looking for partner organisations with which we can cooperate on a long-term basis. Only coordinationg/host organisations.
