The youth peace camp “Together towards Peace” is aimed at creation of open space for cooperation and confidence building between Turkish, Armenian and Kurdish youth from Turkey, Iraq, Georgia and Armenia.
The project “Together towards Peace” is a project of Union of Kurdish Youth of Georgia which is supported by The Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation. One of the activities of the project is Youth Peace Camp, which will be held in Georgia. The youth peace camp “Together towards Peace” will be held on September 5 – 10, 2012 in Georgia. Project “Together towards Peace” is aimed at creation of open space for cooperation and confidence building between Turkish, Armenian and Kurdish youth from Turkey, Iraq, Georgia and Armenia. Developed methodology of the camp is aimed to make youth friendlier towards each other, overcome conflicts and deal with the past together in order to build new healthy society in the region. The beneficiaries of the project are young people from Armenia, Turkey, Georgia and Kurdistan Region (Iraq). During the camp participant will learn, communicate and work out the conception of the joint web resource. After the peace camp participants will blog, disseminate photos and mini-documentaries they prepared on the topic of Armenian-Turkish and Kurdish-Turkish relations. Requirements to the applicant: To be national of Armenia, Georgia, Turkey and Iraq (Kurdistan Region) preferably representing Kurdish, Turkish and Armenian communities To be aged 18 – 35 years old (because of the rules of funding, but in emergency cases for the best applicants few exceptions can be made) To be able to effectively communicate in English To attend all the Camp proceedings Applicant must represent: Non-governmental organization/initiative group University Traditional or new media (Magazine, Newspaper, TV Broadcasting Company, Blog etc.)

This project is financed by The Black Sea Trust (The German Marshal Found). Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) will be covered by organizers. Participant must to pay only participation fees 20 Euros.
