The Real Deal - A11 Contact Making Seminar for Southern and Northern Countries

Partnership-building Activity

25-30 September 2012 | Suomenlinna Hostel, Helsinki, Finland

A contact making seminar that helps youth workers from Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece and Cyprus to meet youth workers from Finland and Sweden - But also a training that helps you to make good quality youth exchanges actively with your young people!
Every youth exchange has a huge potential towards learning opportunities for young people and promoting their active participation. Are you interested in focusing on quality aspects of youth exchanges and deepening your understanding how to carry them out in your next project? Young people are also interested in extremes: This partnership building activity will bring together interested people from the very south of Europe (CY, GR, IT, ES, PT) and very north of Europe (FI, SE). It is a good opportunity to meet potential partners and work on North-South projects. This partnership building activity will provide you support for partner finding, project idea development and project implementation. Besides this, several training elements focus on competence building of each participant within the non-formal educational setting created, with a particular attention towards working around themes and programme building. The partner building activity is open for voluntary and professional youth workers, working directly with young people, and planning to organise a youth exchange within the frame of the Youth in Action programme. Participants should be at least 18 years old. Be aware that the working language is English. The team can give extra language support in Finnish, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian if necessary. The PBA will take place on Suomenlinna Island, the UNESCO World Heritage Site in front of Helsinki. We will reside in a youth hostel, 2-10 participants in one room. Group size: approximately 25 participants coming from Finland, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece and Cyprus.
