The city of Acco has a fascinating historical heritage, a rare combination of east and west, authentic sights from the past, and is a unique meeting place of beliefs and religions alongside the strands of different cultures. All these made Acco one of the most important cities of the ancient world. In 2001 UNESCO declared the Old City of Acco a World Heritage Site.
