Seminar: EVS – non formal added value in formal context

Seminar

12-15 June 2013 | Tallinn, Estonia

Let´s find out what is the value, challenges and possibilities of EVS in formal education institutions. The seminar gives the possibility to explore the different aspects of cooperation between non-formal and formal education in connection with EVS.
The seminar aims to bring together different stake holders who are connected with EVS projects that take place in formal education context and institutions (for example kindergartens, (vocational) schools etc.) and invites them to explore: - what and how formal education institutions can benefit from non-formal learning activities (especially EVS); - which are challenges with carrying out EVS (non-formal learning) activities in formal education contexts; - what developments and improvements could be added to EVS projects in formal education contexts; - how EVS and non-formal activities could be promoted within formal institutions and contexts. Estonian National Agency is carrying out a study on the impact of non-formal learning in formal institutions (to activities, people in it etc.) through EVS projects in Estonia. Interim results of the study will be presented in the seminar and seminar´s input will be used as an addition to the study. Seminar welcomes representatives of the EVS: - host organisations who are active in the context of the formal education, - sending organisations that have experiences with sending volunteers whose service takes place in formal contexts and - co-ordinating organisations who are connected with before mentioned organisations. Representatives can be head of the organisation, volunteer´s mentor, work related support person etc. Also all other interested stake holders (e.g. EVS trainers, National Agency representatives) are invited. Seminar starts on 12th June late afternoon and official part ends on 14th June after dinner. Participants are welcome to leave on 15th morning after the breakfast. NB: Deadline for Turkish participants is 15th of April (due to the visa procedure).
