Training Course

15-20 September 2013 | Kierling (just outside Vienna), Austria

We live in a diverse world with unfortunately many inequalities. We need leaders who have the skills and knowledge to see and fight these inequalities. LEAD is a training course on leadership development with special focus on diversity and gender.
Aim We live in a diverse world with unfortunately many inequalities based on gender, race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation or age. We need leaders who have the skills and knowledge to see and fight these inequalities. LEAD is a training course on leadership development with special focus on diversity and gender. LEAD is planned as a learning and development journey, where you discover your own leadership style, values and attitudes and share experiences about inequalities in your home setting. Through new knowledge and active learning methods you will benefit from new experiences and ideas on how to face your leadership challenges at home – both at regional and national level. Objectives The aim of the training course is to provide leadership skills for today’s diverse world. In particular we expect participants: ● To gain the necessary leadership competences to adapt to a changing world, where new challenges arise and new approaches are required to face them; • To reflect on your personal leadership style, values, attitudes and skills in relation to leading in a diverse world; • To gain a better understanding of working with gender and how to include people with different cultural backgrounds in your team; • To exchange with other participants the challenges arising from diversity in your own environment and to build a network of exchange; and • To benefit from new knowledge and ideas on how to be more inclusive in your leadership role. Target Group Women and men, who • have recently took on a leadership position (e.g. as team leader, project manager, youth leader, self-employed, professional and/or volunteer positions) • want to question their own leadership abilities and are willing to undergo a process of self-development • come preferably from non-profit organisations • are able to communicate in English The 20 participants will come from Austria, France, Italy and Romania.
