EYE-World-Video-HEART

Training Course

22-30 October 2013 | Aghveran, Armenia

This training course is designed to develop competences of youth workers/leaders in using video as a tool for dissemination of project results, raising creativity and ensuring visibility of YiA projects. We will do practical exercises with invited expert.
Last times with the development of internet and multimedia technologies, the video-component of international youth work is coming more and more affordable and widespread. Once a luxury not for all, now the basic home video-equipment is giving enough quality to be broadcasted even on TV, and sometimes the amateur video-reports are producing serious social changes and can have a huge educational effect. The visibility and results dissemination components of all the YiA projects are duplicated and even multiplicities when the video-component is used in their realization. Even now there are several videos on projects that are used to inspire youth leaders from other projects as well as to reach out to wider audiences. Though to empower the mutual understanding and exchange between culturally diverse groups of young people and to foster their creativity in providing better visibly and dissemination of info on their YiA projects the current Training Course is setting the following objectives: A. To explore the ways, techniques, means and possibilities of amateur video-production with youth workers and youth leaders active in European youth work. B. To learn together the nowadays new programmes and platforms supporting video creation and dissemination as well as the basic rules of it such as respect to copyright, creative commons etc. C. To try on the spot the knowledge and skills got at the TC and to receive feedback from the invited experts to fine-tune the learning outcomes. D. To develop further activities in the framework of YiA Programme exploiting the results got at the TC and disseminating them further to their peers and communities. Through this Training course we will empower the participating youth workers and youth leaders to more efficiently and extensively use the video-tools in their projects, both for improving the educational process at the events themselves, and also for taking the material developed and results achieved further to wider communities. The methodological framework used will be based on the approaches and values of non-formal education. The course is participants-based and entirely participant-oriented, experiences and contributions from participants constitute and inherent part of the Activity.
