The main objectives of this training course is to raise awareness on how to use non formal education-NFE-as a tool for inclusion. The main objectives are:Achieve basic understanding of NFE methods, methodologies and to explore/adapt the existing examples.
OBJECTIVES:
-To achieve common understanding of NFE and inclusion
-To share experiences about inclusion/exclusion realities
-To explore the needs of socially excluded groups
-To explore NFE opportunities (basic concepts and principles) for different individuals (learning styles)
-To achieve basic understanding of NFE methods and methodologies and to explore/adapt the existing examples and implementations in our practice.
METHODOLOGY
The training course will follow the non-formal education approach, and thus will be designed as an open learning process based on participants’ experience and exchange. A combination of different creative and interactive methods will be used and designed upon the profile of participants. Main educational methods used will be: Ice-breaking and Getting to know each other activities, Regular energizers, Workshops, Theoretical Inputs, Group activities (group tasks and complex exercises), Role-plays, Small working groups, Presentations, Personal, group, and meta reflections and evaluations.
PROFILE OF THE PARTICIPANTS
• Youth workers and youth leaders experienced or interested in working with the excluded groups
• Having basic knowledge and understanding of the needs and realities of socially excluded groups
• Prior experience and expertise in NFE is not a pre-condition, but an interest in it is
• Able to communicate in English
• Over 18 years old
• Residents of one of the Youth in Action programme countries.

Costs
This project is financed by the Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the NAs involved in this project - except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country. Please contact your NA to learn more about the financial details, and how to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
