Film-making activities in formal and non-formal education context can engage and motivate learners of all ages. This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to make, and facilitate the making of, fiction and non-fiction films.
Monday Introductions and participant presentations What students in mainstream and special education learn through film-making Digital photographs & videos – tips and practice, editing photos, downloading photos and videos to computers/laptops Photographing and filming in Oulu during a guided tour of the city Tuesday A pedagogical framework for critical documentary film-making Role of documentary film-making in international projects Storyboards Film editing – Windows Movie Maker Animation techniques Wednesday Visits to a local education institute and cultural sites Copyright, Creative Commons, ethical and legal aspects of film-making Audio recording and editing Thursday Make a film in a day - from initial idea to final editing Friday Premières Next steps: Film-making plans after the course Lifelong Learning Programme(LLP)Opportunities Course conclusions and feedback Evening – dinner, certificates and closing Please Note: The programme may be adjusted to meet the needs of the group and according to visit availability (School summer holiday period is June, July and the beginning of August)

Costs

Participants are responsible for funding their own costs. Teachers, school staff, teacher trainers, youth and adult educators from EU and EFTA/EEA countries (except those living in the training host country, Finland) are eligible for funding from the European Commission, Lifelong Learning Programme to participate on courses. This course is registered in the Europa Comenius-Grundtvig Training Database of approved courses. The process to apply for funding should start as early as possible.
