Intercultural Competences - A long term project, linking researchers and youth workers to explore and define the intercultural competence and to support youth workers to develop their competences. A roundtable was held in 2009 in Rome to launch the project. The conclusions are available in the publication "Reflection based on ideas from Intercultural Competence Roundtable" click here to download the publication. The project is ongoing in 2010 and 2011. For more information www.salto-youth.net/interculturalcompetence Cultural Diversity NA Group - SALTO Cultural Diversity offered National Agency staff a chance to discuss and learn more about Cultural Diversity. Held in October 2009 in the UK. e-mail Cultural Coach - A bridge between cultural minorities and the 'YiA' programme. The objective was to support/train representatives from cultural minority who would become a bridge for the National Agency and for 'YiA' programme.The project is ongoing and continues in 2010. For more information www.salto-youth.net/culturalcoach Value the Difference Training Course - Value the Difference was a training module for youth workers, designed to explore the concepts of intercultural learning, cultural diversity, stereotypes and prejudices. Each module had a different focus and included visits to local projects. In 2009, four training courses were organised: Value the Difference: Media (Slovenia, October 2008) - The aim was to learn more about Cultural Diversity in European Youth Work with a special focus on how media influences our vision of Cultural Diversity nowadays. Value the Difference: Migration (Italy, March 2009) - It was created to understand more the concepts which relate to topics of Cultural Diversity, especially migrations in todays Europe. Value the Difference: Immigration processes (Portugal, June 2009) - To learn more about Cultural Diversity in European youth work with a special focus on how immigration processes in Europe affect youth work. Value the Difference: From Monoculture to Cultural Diversity (Finland, October 2009) - This was the same module looking specifically at cross community youth work. Held June 2009, Moldova. Roma booklet - In 2009, SALTO Cultural Diversity produced a booklet about Youth in Action and the Roma Community with examples of projects and general information about the Roma Community and youth work.
