All EVS volunteers are obliged to attend training sessions organised by SALTO SEE.

Pre-departure training
The aim of pre-departure training is to provide outgoing volunteers with tools to benefit fully from their future EVS activity as well as to increase their capabilities to solve possible problems. The training consists of:
- providing general information on EVS (-management of the project and availability of support structures, clarification of the concept of volunteering and non-formal learning, information on the rights and responsibilities of the volunteers and other actors as well as practical information on issues such as money and working hours).
- providing information on the countries of the volunteers' EVS activity
- increasing the volunteers' capabilities to encounter other cultures and working environments
- crisis management and conflict resolution
- response to the expectations and possible insecurities of the future volunteers
- motivating and encouraging the future volunteers
- facilitating networking between volunteers from SEE
- providing individual support
On-arrival training
The aim of the on-arrival training is to facilitate the volunteers' adaptation to a new cultural environment and to provide the support with the projects. The training consists of:
- providing general information on EVS (-management of the project and availability of support structures, clarification of the concept of volunteering and non-formal learning and information on the rights and responsibilities of the volunteers and other actors as well as practical information on issues such as money and working hours)
- country specific information on culture, political- and administrative institutions and "every-day life" in SEE
- facilitating intercultural understanding, learning and communication
- facilitating cultural adaptation
- crisis management and conflict resolution
- response to the expectations and possible insecurities of the volunteers
- motivating and encouraging the volunteers
- facilitating networking between volunteers in SEE
- providing individual support
Mid-term training
The aim of the mid-term training is to reflect on the volunteers' experiences in their hosting countries and projects and to provide tools for improvement and problem solving. The training consists of:
- project presentation and evaluation
- providing support and advice for possible improvement of the projects
- providing information on possibilities after EVS
- facilitating intercultural understanding, learning and communication
- facilitating networking between volunteers in SEE
- providing individual support
Final evaluation
The aim of the final evaluation is to reflect on the EVS project as a whole. The emphasis is also on future planning in the framework of possible follow up activities. The training consists of:
- project evaluation
- evaluation of the acquired skills and competences
- addressing the future perspectives
- facilitating the planning of possible follow up activities
- facilitating the adaptation back to the volunteers' home countries
- facilitating networking between former volunteers from SEE
All the trainings include accommodation with full board. The programme is planned and implemented by an experienced trainer in cooperation with a SALTO SEE RC representative. The volunteers are provided with support for travel arrangements to the venues.

The SALTO-YOUTH SEE Resource Centre is responsible for providing the volunteers in the South East Europe region with the full EVS training cycle (pre-departure, on-arrival, mid-term and final evaluation). The aim is to contribute to the quality of EVS projects involving SEE countries, and to ensure the support that volunteers are entitled to receive within their EVS project. SALTO SEE organises training sessions for EVS volunteers in South East Europe
Since the beginning of June 2007, SALTO-YOUTH SEE Resource Centre has taken over the responsibility of providing the volunteers in the SEE region with the full EVS training cycle. The aim is to establish a coherent support structure for both -incoming and outgoing volunteers, by providing quality trainings with a relevant time frame. Please find below the objectives SALTO SEE RC has set for each training activity as well as a training design for 2007.

CALL FOR TRAINING PROVIDERS - CLOSED
Since June 2007 SALTO-YOUTH SEE Resource Centre has been responsible for providing the volunteers in the South East Europe region with the full EVS training cycle (pre-departure, on-arrival, mid-term and final evaluation). The aim is to contribute to the quality of EVS projects involving SEE countries, and to ensure the support volunteers are entitled to get within the EVS project.
SALTO-YOUTH SEE RC is looking for training providers, who will be contracted on a case-by- case basis to implement a training programme in the EVS training sessions organized by SALTO-YOUTH SEE RC.
