Appetiser - How to use the YiA programme for local youth work

The overall aim of Appetiser is to give a first strong positive experience of international youth work and motivate the participants to use the Youth in Action Programme.

This aim summarises the entire idea of the seminar - to give a feeling, what it means to work with young people in an international setting. Leaving all explanations and knowledge aside, it is about giving a space for the participants to explore the advantage of 'internationality' themselves.

On an annual basis, the SALTO Training and Co-operation RC co-ordinates and monitors several Appetiser training courses for youth workers from all over Europe. The training courses are hosted by the NAs and are implemented by a trainers pool consisting of Monika Kezaite, Eylem Certel, Sakis Krezios, and Yvor Broer. On the right hand you can find the summary of the results of the recent 3 Appetiser implemented in 2009-10.

During the current period, the Appetiser training courses listed below are planned to take place. The NAs will recruit and select the participants; please check the details when you click on the relevant course.

• Appetiser in Norway (2-6 May 2012), including participants from Norway, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, the Neterhlands, Poland, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
• Appetiser in the French speaking community of Belgium (24-28 October 2012) for participants from the French speaking community of Belgium, Austria, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and UK
• Appetiser in Greece  (18-22 November 2012) for participants from Greece, Belgium-FL, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey and UK
• Appetiser in Latvia (February 2013) for participants from Latvia, Austria, French speaking community of Belgium, Croatia, Finland, France, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and UK
• Appetiser in the Flemish speaking community of Belgium (8-12 April2013) for participants from Flemish and French speaking communities of Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey and UK
