It can be a project which:
- promotes the involvement of young people in participatory structures;
- develops the dialogue between public authorities and a group of young people;
- facilitates the dialogue between public authorities and young people who are not members of organizations;
- creates structures or strategies for bringing young people closer to political decision-making;
- identifies and overcomes obstacles to the participation of young people in democratic life.
Because this is a new action, there is plenty of space for new initiatives and ideas. Nevertheless, it's clear that a Youth Democracy Project must be based on a real partnership both at a local and transnational level. More technically a project should involve at least 2 countries with 2 local partners per country.
Please note that a youth democracy project may only be developed with partners from Programme Countries (European Union Member States, Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland, Croatia, Switzerland or Turkey).
An informal group of young people;
A non-profit organisation or an association established in one of the programme countries;
A local or regional public body.
A minimum of 16 young people from 13 to 30 years old per project.
- Quality of the programme and working methods;
- Diversity of actors involved in the project;
- Relevance of the objectives;
- European dimension of the project;
- Visibility of the project;
- Dissemination of results and follow up of the project.
