For more detailed information on the accreditation procedure, please consult the Accreditation Guidelines. The basis for accreditation is complement to the EVS Charter.
Below the procedure is explained shortly:
WHY to accredit? |
Any organisation from Eastern Europe and Caucasus region wishing to be involved into EVS must be accredited. Accreditation serves to gain access to EVS and to ensure a common quality standards. |
WHO needs accreditation? |
Any EVS organisation in a Programme Country, in South East Europe or in Eastern Europe and Caucasus needs accreditation. Expression of interest (EI) form is submitted by potential EVS organisation. Additionally organisations from 6countries of “Eastern Partnership Youth Window” that want to apply for EVS hosting projects directly to the Executive Agency should be accredited as for “coordinating”. |
WHEN to apply? |
Interested organisations can apply for accreditation at any time. Ideally, accreditation will be carried out within six weeks after receipt of all documents. Due to the large geographical scope of the Eastern Europe and Caucasus, the period of six weeks can be prolonged in justified cases. |

If hosting organisation requires help (for instance with project application and reporting procedure or providing the mentor etc.), then it might ask for aid to other experienced organisation and name it in EI part “contact point for EVS outside the organisation”. SALTO EECA strongly suggest that in such case an agreement is signed between hosting organisation and the external contact point (see example of the contract). All documents must be provided in electronic form in 'not certified' English language (in case of legal registration and organisations' statute also in native language). Original and completed EI form should be signed by the legal representative of the applicant and send in paper version by post to SALTO EECA (address below). In case of problems with internet, all documents can be sent by post (and added electronically on CD). But then, the accreditation process will start only after receipt of the mail. |

IMPORTANTS |
Accreditation is a process of overall assessment of organisation's capability and doesn't refer to concrete EVS project. It is organisations, not EVS projects accredited. The accreditation doesn't represent financial support, but is a pre-requisite for a later application for a concrete project. Accreditors might decide to give accreditation (EI number) valid from 1 to 3 years or to lower the maximum number of volunteers the promoter can host (or send) at the same time. Bigger organisation wishing to host volunteers are recommended to have at least 1 coordinator per 10 planned volunteers and 1 mentor per 3-4 planned volunteers. |
