SALTO EECA Multipliers Network in Brief

The network of SALTO EECA Multipliers was created in 2004 in order to support the development of the YOUTH Programme in the Region as well as to increase its visibility and quality of realised YOUTH projects in Eastern European and Caucasian Countries. Initially the Network gathered 20 active members of non-governmental organisations from each of 7 EECA countries. Since 2004 the Network had evolved a lot. Some people changed their jobs and withdraw, some other had joined the Network in the meantime. The experience gained during last years of Multipliers work is very valuable. Definitely it opened new perspectives and possibilities for the Youth in Action (YiA) Programme in EECA Region.

Nowadays the restructured Network gathers 30 youth workers from all 7 EECA countries.

What Multipliers do (in the context of YiA Programme)?

Generally the Multipliers work in several directions:

• organising informational and promotional meetings in the EECA Regions about the possibilities of international cooperation within Youth in Action Programme along with SALTO EECA Resources and Tools, especially with the young people, youth workers, youth organisations' representatives, trainers and local youth policy makers;
• supporting the knowledge about YiA Programme, contact making between organisations from Programme and EECA countries as well as sharing good practices by answering enquiry e-mails, phone calls and doing direct meetings with the youth groups and local youth institutions;
• promoting individual multiplier (and multiplier's organisation) activities as well as other activities in the frames of YiA Programme in the Region through SALTO EECA bimonthly Newsletter, SALTO EECA Facebook profile and SALTO EECA "Youth in 7" Magazine;

As the practice shows, above general fields of work are followed by deeper approach and subsequent activities:

• local networking (between youth organisations, institutions and local authorities) in order to build the multiplier's organisation potential, to strengthen the impact of multiplying activities and possibilities for international cooperation;
• coaching and counselling possible applicants with their projects within YiA Programme;
• informing about other resources, possibilities for international cooperation (for instance Council of Europe - European Youth Foundation etc.);

With the support of SALTO EECA, local authorities and governments some Multipliers also do:

• publishing materials about the youth work and YiA Programme in the national language;
• creating local youth information centres;

Most of above-mentioned activities are somehow natural in the work of any ambitious organisation and youth worker. Anyway cooperation with SALTO EECA in the frames of Multipliers Network gives a strong added value in the work of both sides.

What SALTO EECA can give and what expect from Multipliers?

possibilities to make international contacts, to gain the newest information about the YiA Programme and to develop the cooperation within Network through annual Multipliers evaluation meetings	cooperate with the other Multipliers on the national level
possibilities to influence a SALTO EECA work plan and activities, therefore to develop the YiA Programme to fill the national and regional needs	stay in regular contact with the SALTO EECA RC and inform about multiplying activities
informational and promotional leaflets, publications and other PR materials	contribute to the creation of the content of the SALTO EECA Newsletter and "Youth in 7" Magazine
financial support for multiplying activities	represent YiA Programme and SALTO EECA RC in a stately manner
requests for paid monitoring visits in local YiA projects; (meetings with projects' organisers and participants in order to provide quality help, whenever the problems arise and are communicated by National Agencies or project partners to SALTO EECA)	have a wish to develop own skills and competencies
promotion of Multiplier person and organisation through SALTO EECA web-sites and publications

 

Principles of year's cooperation between Multiplier and SALTO EECA.

Each multiplier creates own, year's multiplying working plan based on own resources, personal and organisational potential. The plan includes proposals for strategical directions and main, general targets of multiplying as well as propositions for multiplying activities on the national Network level and indicators for future evaluation of own multiplying activities.

After a year each multiplier presents a report from own multiplying activities. SALTO EECA supports the multipliers' activities by different means (e.g. information and expert support, possibility for co-financing etc.).

SALTO EECA undertakes the similar responsibility to create year's working plan of support events for/with the Network together with Multipliers, as well as to present the report from realization of its own work plan.
