Training and Networking within Action 3.1

Training and Networking of those active in youth work and youth organisations

Cooperation and partnership, training measures and exchange of good practice are the key terms for the development of youth organisations, civil society and those involved in youth work.

Aims:

  • Assist in the development of projects of Youth Exchanges and EVS;
  • Contribute to achieving the objectives of the Youth in Action Programme;
  • Support for partner - finding;
  • Promote and strengthen European youth policy;
  • Promote exchanges of experience, cooperation and training in European youth work.

8 activities are accessible to International Cooperation with Partner Countries:

  1. Job Shadowing (Practical training experience) - It is active participation in work of a partner organisation in another country. This activity aims at acquiring skills and knowledge and to exchanging good practices.
  2. Feasibility visit - a short meeting with potential partners which is preparation for future activity within the Youth in Action Programme.
  3. Evaluation Meeting - A meeting planned with partners, aiming to evaluate past meetings, seminars, training courses.
  4. Study Visits - A meeting of youth workers providing an opportunity to learn about youth work provisions in other countries.
  5. Partnership - Building Activity - this activity provide an opportunity for organisations to find partners for transnational co-operation and/or for project development.
  6. Seminar - Exchange of experience and good practice with regard to the Youth in Action Programme.
  7. Training Courses - An educational learning programme on specific topics, aiming to improve participants' competences, knowledge, skills and attitudes.
  8. Networking - activities aiming to create new networks, or to strengthen and widen existing networks under Youth in Action Programme.

Formal criteria:

Participants:

  • Youth workers;
  • Trainers;
  • Mentors;
  • Project managers;
  • Youth leaders;
  • Groups of young people;
  • Others involved or interested in youth work;
  • No age limits.

Partners:

  • Job Shadowing and Feasibility Visit involve a minimum one partner from Neighbouring Partner Country and one from an EU country;
  • Evaluation Meeting, Study Visit, Partnership-Building, Seminar and Training Course involve at least four partners (at least one from an EU country and two from Neighbouring Partner Countries);
  • Networking involve at least six partners (at least one from an EU country and three from Neighbouring Partner Countries);
  • Projects should aim at a balance between the number of Programme Countries and Neighbouring Partner Countries.

Place:

  • The activity may take place either in a Programme Country or in a Neighbouring Partner Country involved in the project, except in a Mediterranean Partner Country.

  • Youth in Action projects are co-funded, i.e. besides grants from the Youth in Action Programme, at least one additional source of funding to cover total costs of the project is required (cash/in kind);
  • The travel costs are reimbursed at the rate of 70%;
