SALTO Information Resource Centre
The SALTO Information Resource Centre is established to develop and facilitate the internal communication, co-operation, and information among and between the National Agencies, the SALTO-YOUTH Resource Centres for the 'Youth in Action' programme, the European Commission (DG EAC), and the Executive Agency, in order to maximise the efficiency of the implementation, promotion, and management of the 'Youth in Action' programme.
The target group of the SALTO Information Resource Centre is the staff of the National Agencies, the SALTO-YOUTH Resource Centres, the European Commission (DG EAC), and the Executive Agency.
Among the objectives by which the SALTO Information Resource Centre fulfils its above mission are the following:
- to develop and operate an Internet-based extranet (not open to the public), called Youthnet, through which it stimulates and facilitates daily communication, co-ordination, and co-operation between the staff of the National Agencies, the SALTO-YOUTH Resource Centres, and the European Commission, and also to support and stimulate co-operation and networking in the field of communication
- to organise training activities on communication for the information officers of the network, to support the development of information and communication strategies within the network of National Agencies, to contribute to improved co-ordination of the activities within the network, and to co-operate with the information officers of the European Commission (DG EAC) in developing communication tools and enhancing the visibility of 'Youth in Action'
- to develop and operate Otlas, a partner-finding database for international youth projects.
The SALTO Information Resource Centre is operated by Ungdomsstyrelsen, the Swedish National Agency for Youth in Action.
