What is in the Inclusion Strategy?

National Agencies of the Youth in Action programme are our privileged partners in our mission to make inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities a reality. To highlight this we created this overview of what we have on offer for NAs, and more particularly their Inclusion Officers.

Find your way in Inclusion Space

SALTO Inclusion organises Staff Training for Inclusion Officers of the National Agencies. SALTO Inclusion brings NA colleagues together to think together how to make their Inclusion efforts easier and more efficient. SALTO developed concrete tools and guidelines that can be used to boost the NAs' inclusion work. Here is an overview:

We already invented some wheels for you

There is no need to start from zero. SALTOs (and undoubtedly you and your colleagues) have developed a whole set of resources that are waiting for you to use them. Simply copy them, adapt them, spread them or exploit them. Here are some inclusion resources:

• Youth work manuals for working specific inclusion groups: SALTO developed the Inclusion for ALL booklets which you can give as a support material to YiA beneficiaries - read more - or you can decide to translate these practical manuals into your language - read more
• Methods, exercises, simulations and background texts on inclusion? You can get inspiration from the Toolbox for Youth Work & Training or send the project beneficaries there to add some spice to their activity - read more (and you can of course also add methods & tools yourself)
• Successful and innovative project formats for inclusion: SALTO Inclusion will start collecting in 2008 'good inclusion practices' from the different NAs to share in a handy 'Inclusion Folder' - more later
• Training for youth workers on inclusion: send them to SALTO Inclusion's training courses or they can find other international training offers in the European Training Calendar - read more (make sure you also add your training and seminars!)
• Organising a training course on Inclusion yourself? if you don't know where to start, you can cooperate with SALTO Inclusion (to be discussed at TCP meeting) or you could repeat one of the SALTO inclusion courses (with our support and the trainers) - read more
• Looking for Inclusion (and other) Trainers? SALTO Inclusion manages the Trainers Online for Youth (TOY) database and can do calls for trainers for you (on average 25 applications per call) - read more (and you can also invite your international trainers to list themselves in TOY)

Tailor Made Support - also for NAs

When working with inclusion groups - tailor made support is vital - but also for NA inclusion officers. Therefore SALTO Inclusion is open for your suggestions and requests (to the extent of the possible). Let us know what your needs are and we can find a solution. Some examples:

• SALTO Inclusion supported the development of the Doors Wide Open training course organised by the Flemish-Belgian NA and offered its online application system
• SALTO Inclusion brought many a National Agency in contact with experienced trainers on Inclusion
• SALTO Inclusion cooperated with the French NA to develop an educational publication based on the Urban Youth Seminar they organised
• Your suggestions and requests are welcome...
