DetailsIn 2007, ToM seminar 1 is hosted from 10 to 18 June 2007 by the Turkish National Agency and seminar 2 is hosted from 24 to 30 November 2007 by the Portuguese National Agency.

OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING OF MULTIPLIERS
To give participants the opportunity to develop their:
• knowledge and understanding of the Youth in Action Programme
• understanding of the concept of European citizenship / participation
• understanding of the concept of non-formal education
• knowledge of youth work realities in different European countries
• intercultural competence
• communication competence (presentation, active listening, and information providing skills)
• competence to analyse and address the needs of potential programme users
• competence to motivate others' competence to plan, run, and evaluate multiplying projects

THE FIVE PHASES OF TOM
PHASE I. Preparation of participants at national level
PHASE II. International training: initial seminar of 7 days
PHASE III. Practical experience – multiplying projects at local/regional level
PHASE IV. International training of 5 days
PHASE V. Evaluation and follow-up at national level with NAs

Essential for the success of the whole process is the co-operation between the National Agencies and participants and their support during the course.

PROFILE OF A ToM PARTICIPANT
A potential participant in the Training of Multipliers is somebody, who:
• has experience in the Youth in Action Programme
• has basic knowledge of the Youth in Action Programme and its different Actions
• is part or is ready to be part of a network, which enables him/her to act as a multiplier
• works directly with young people or works with people, who work with young people
• is in active contact with other potential users of the Youth in Action Programme
• is willing and ready to co-operate with the National Agency
• will implement a project with multiplying effect during the module and preferably will continue afterwards
• is above 18
• is able to work in English
• is committed to the total duration of the training course
