| Details | The training course aims to create a common platform for youth workers and youth leaders to develop their competences needed to organise and run European youth projects in human rights education.
The aims of the training course:
• To discuss the current situation in the countries and explore the possibilities to address the discrimination influencing the young people.
• To set up the framework of policies for ensuring social inclusion of young people with disadvantaged background.
• To get competences in running human rights education youth projects
• To plan concrete projects with young people within the YOUTH programme
• To get training in project management
• To share experience and youth work practices
• To recognise possible solutions to address discrimination and xenophobia
• To reflect on the notion of the human rights and be able to multiply this knowledge
• To discuss the quality criteria for youth projects addressing the issue of Human Rights
• To introduce and familiarise the participants with COMPASS -a manual on human rights education with young people- and discuss how to adapt it to the participants’ realities
• To develop intercultural competences of the participants
• To initiate partnership between the organisations by creating the common space for joint work
Methodology:
The 7 days programme consists of 1 introductory day, 3 days of training on Human Rights Education, 2 days of workshop on project management and 1 day on project development and conclusion. The methodology will be based on interactive and inclusive participation of all the participants from 7 countries (Belgium, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Romania, and Turkey) on human rights education.
Programme:
The programme of the course will be conducted using an interactive and participative approach. A team of experienced trainers will design and carry out the programme of the course. Both learning from each other and learning by doing will be crucial. Participants' prior experiences in youth work, particularly at local and regional level, will be important and used in the development of the learning process. Active participation, group-work and teamwork as well as theoretical inputs will characterise the programme of the course.
Preparatory team of the event:
The preparatory team of the event is composed of the selected partner organisation trainers who have attended the Training of Trainers in Human Rights Education, Advanced Training in Human Rights Education and TATEM courses of the Council of Europe. |
| Costs | The organisers will cover the expenses of the accommodation, the meals, and the seminar documents for the participants.
70% of the travel and visa costs of all participants will be reimbursed by the organisers according to EU YOUTH programme procedure. |
