Domestic Violence; everybody’s Business!

Training Course

19-28 June 2009 | Texel, Netherlands

Richter foundation is organizing a training about domestic violence. Invitation is for NGO's that are working and who are involved in promoting to protect woman and children who are suffered from or are exposed to domestic violence.
The first aim of the training is to share knowledge and train professional workers involved in organization, which deals with domestic violence. This training subscribes the importance of the aim and during the training we want to share knowledge about the different aspect of domestic violence. What is domestic violence? Domestic violence is violence that takes place in the home, committed by partners, parents, children, other family members or friends. Domestic violence can affect anyone; women and men, children and elderly people. Offenders, victims and witnesses come from every level of society and all cultural backgrounds, and every one of them has a problem with domestic violence. It’s everybody business! The second aim of the training will be dealing with European Volunteering Service (EVS). During the training we have a closer look on the programme youth in action and will focus and give special attention to EVS. It’s the wish of the training to give applicants the opportunity to develop them and to get more information about this action. Besides a study trip to a security house, a homeless house and HQ/resident of Richter we hope that this training will help the applicants and their organisations to gain knowledge about domestic violence and to establish (long term) working relationships.
