Give an overview of the fields of work of SALTO and what it aims to reach with the TC Enable, a training course enabling young people with a disability to take part in mixed ability YOUTH projects.

Description of the tool

- The powerpoint first shows the situation in Europe, where there will be a large number of young people when the new accession countries join.
- Therefore the European Commission pays attention to young people and created a European YOUTH programme for non-formal education.
- The YOUTH programme is implemented by decentralised National Agencies in the different programme countries (central pillar). But one pillar cannot support the roof of quality non-formal education. It needs more international support, for example given by SALTO, resource centres, Youth Organisations own training supported by Action 5 and by the Partnership on Youth Worker Training between the European Commission and the Council of Europe.
- SALTO stands for Support for Advanced Learning and Training Opportunities and works on the following priorities: EuroMed, Tolerance and Diversity, Inclusion
- SALTO organises a whole series of training courses on these priority topics and makes resources for the work on these priorities available via the website
- SALTO provides the following services and tools: Evaluation, European Trainng Calendar; Trainers Online for Youth, Toolbox etc
- TC Enable 2003 takes place in the frame of the Ethe aim with the SALTO TC Enable is to include more young people with a disability in the youth programme projects.
