Workshops for National Agency staff and project organisers on cooperation with SEE

The yearly training for NA staff concerning the implementation of the international co-operation strand (in addition to training concerning the Euro-Med YOUTH programme) is alternated by the SALTO SEE and SALTO EE&CA Resource Centres. Accordingly, following the National Agency staff training for co-operation with SEE organised in October 2004 (and for cooperation with EE&CA in October 2005), another staff training workshop for co-operation with SEE will be organised in 2006.

Workshop for National Agency Staff and Project Organisers on Co-operation with SEE 2006

40 - 50 participants: National Agency staff responsible for co-operation with SEE & 20 participants from NGOs (project beneficiaries), including 10 from Programme countries and 10 from SEE.

This workshop is addressed to staff of National Agencies and project organisers who have been actively involved in cooperation with South East Europe under the YOUTH programme. It will be moment to take stock together of the cooperation that was developed under the YOUTH programme, and in particular the past two years, and to look to "what's new and what's possible" under the YOUTH IN ACTION programme starting next year.

Objectives of the workshop:

To raise awareness of National Agency staff about the context of working with SEE;
To inform about on-going developments, new policies and rules;
To create contacts among National Agency staff and project organisers, promote mutual exchange, networking and cooperation;
To evaluate the past co-operation with South East Europe under the YOUTH programme and the support measures provided by SALTO SEE;
To inform about and to collect ideas for concrete instruments which could be used by different actors under the YOUTH in ACTION programme starting in 2007.

Workshop for National Agency staff and project organisers on co-operation with South East Europe 2004

Dates and venue: 30 September to 3 October 2004, Kranjska Gora, Slovenia.

The workshop was designed as an event which combined two workshops for different target groups: a YOUTH programme evaluation workshop for beneficiaries of projects with South East Europe and a workshop for National Agency staff responsible for co-operation with South East Europe.

Both workshops were run in parallel, and the participants came together for some joint sessions for common reflection and sharing of information and the outcomes of the separate working sessions. The event was prepared by the SALTO-YOUTH South East Europe Resource Centre in co-operation with the National Agency consultative group for SEE and the European Commission.

The objectives of the NA workshop were:

To evaluate the work of the Resource Centre(s);
To develop future common activities with South East Europe and to further develop the role and tasks of the Resource Centre;
To promote exchange of information and improve co-operation among National Agencies, the Commission and the Resource Centre on working with South East Europe;
To provide training opportunities concerning realities in South East Europe and current developments (at the level of the European Commission and National Agencies).

Objectives of the beneficiaries workshop included:

Sharing and learning from different experiences of implemented YOUTH projects involving partners from SEE,
Learning about realities in SEE,
Enabling participants to improve their future work within the YOUTH programme, in particular with SEE,
Raising awareness about examples of good practice in co-operation with South East Europe,
Collecting and compiling the results of the participants' experiences in a manual for dissemination to a wider scope of project organisers.

45 participants, half coming from National Agencies and half from youth NGOs from Programme countries and the countries of SEE participated in the workshop.
