Actions for better recognition
Read the Statement and Plan of Action - major challenges and recommendations for a better recognition of youth work and non-formal learning/education, complemented with suggestions for concrete actions!
Recognition for youth work and learning in the youth field his a joint effort. Therefore the suggested actions concern various levels and actors. What can you and your organisation do?
In November 2011, the European symposium on recognition of youth work and non-formal learning/education took place in Strasbourg. The outcomes of the discussions in the symposium were formulated as the Statement and the accompanying Plan of Action.

Unlocking Doors to Recognition
"Unlocking Doors to Recognition. Handbook for setting up strategies for the better recognition of youth work and non-formal education in different contexts" aims to help mainly youth workers but also other actors in the youth field to build up their recognition strategies - in their context, answering their own needs and considering the type of recognition they might be seeking for. The publication contains explanations about recognition, accompanied by practical exercises helping to set up the strategy as well as examples from real experiences.
You can download the publication as a pdf and/or ask for a printed copy. The handbook was published in the cooperation of SALTO Training and Cooperation and SALTO SEE Resource Centres.

Consultation seminar: Youthpass going beyond?
As you probably know, Youthpass certificates can currently only be issued in the context of the EU Youth in Action Programme. However, it has also raised a lot of interest outside the programme, as there is a need for a transnational and trans-sectorial recognition instrument like Youthpass.
Consultation seminar "Youthpass beyond Youth in Action" in Paris (France), 13-16 May 2012.
To discuss the possible contexts and adaptations of applying Youthpass outside the Youth in Action programme, to identify partners in this, and produce recommendations, the consultation seminar will take place in Paris.
